Shawm Kit
The same range of instruments are offered in kit form for home assembly.
The price includes the license to build one instrument for
private use.
The RWC shawm kits are extremely simple to assemble involving only three
turned parts and no fingerhole drilling. Made from selected English sycamore the
pirouette is reamed to accept the brass staple, the stem has pre-drilled
fingerholes and the large diameter bell has the stem socket turned. A cane reed,
brass staple, bell hole drill, instruction manual and fingering chart are all
included.
The Sopranino Shawm kit when completed has a range of over 1 1/2
