Crumhorn Kit
The same range of Crumhorns are offered in kit form for home
assembly.
Our Crumhorn kits are ones of the easiest kits in our range to build.
The price includes the license to build one
instrument for private use.
The windcap, stem and bobbin are all turned from English sycamore ready
for assembly. The stem has been steamed and bent ready for assembly.
All the hardware parts, brass ring, extension keys, cork, leather and
drills are included.
A plastic reed is supplied as standard with the option of cane upon
request.
Full step by step instructions in a clear and concise manner and a
working template ensure success even for the first time builder.
All the kits Include free access to our customer 'Helpline' should you
need any advice on construction, setting-up or playing.
The soprano crumhorn built
from our kit has one upward extension key giving it a chromatic range of c'
- e''.
The alto in f crumhorn built from our kit has two upward extension
keys giving it a chromatic range of f - b'(c').
The g alto in g crumhorn does
not have any upward extension keys and has a chromatic range of g - a'.
The tenor crumhorn built from our kit has two
upward extension keys giving it a chromatic range of c - f'(g').
The bass crumhorn built from
our kit has two upward extension keys, a lower key for the bottom F and at
full breath pressure plays the normal range of F - b(c). The plastic reeded
version however can be under blown by a fifth giving a bottom note of CC and
a range of two octaves, obviating the need for a great bass instrument!
An attractive attache style carrying case is
available as an optional extra to protect the instruments above when
finished.
Our ATTB and SATB crumhorn kits offer a substantial saving,
over buying the kits individually. All the parts are as per the individual
kits but avoiding any duplication and are packed in a single carrying case
which can be used to protect the instruments when finished. |
