RWC Baroque Bassoon
Our fine copy of a Baroque Bassoon is based on an original instrument
by J C Denner, housed in the Musickinstrumenten Museum, Berlin.
Like the original it has three keys, hand beaten from 70/30 brass and a
hand drawn brass crook (bocal).
All brasswork is hand made to the exact patterns of the original and
fitted using traditional methods. The bassoon is pitched at A=415 (low
pitch) and is made from ten year air seasoned English sycamore which has
been specially selected for its fine grain and figure. Remarkably light in
weight it plays extraordinarily well and has been acclaimed as one of the
finest Baroque Bassoons available.
The bassoon is presented in a handsome plush lined fitted hard case and
comes with two reeds, one medium and one soft.
A leaflet by Wm. Waterhouse entitled 'The Baroque Bassoon', which gives a
brief historic background to the instrument including some historic
fingerings is also included.
Each instrument is hand built to special order in our own workshops in
Toledo (Spain) and comes with
12 months warranty. |
