Get more info (without buying the book)

In this website you can only see some partial information of the books.

To get more information or compare several books, you can take advantage of the huge amount of information collected by Amazon. To do so, click on the link which can be found below every book that we publish in our lists, to add them to the cart of Amazon. You are not obliged to buy the books in the cart. The books remain in your Amazon's cart for 90 days and then disappear. You can delete them at any time or pass them to a "wish" or "buy later" lists.

When all the books of your interest have been added to the Amazon's cart , you will have there a list of books and you can click on the titles to see and compare the information that Amazon provides, reviews by specialized magazines or readers and also a comparison of prices with other booksellers in the Marketplace.

Buying a book

Price

A book can have different prices. It is very interesting to compare before buying.

  • Issue or edition. Some only differ in the preface and minor mistakes, others can have added chapters.
  • Language. You can have the same contents translated in different languages.
  • Binding (hardcover is always more expensive than soft cover).

KNACK: To know if two books are exactly the same (same contents, language, binding, publisher, year, etc) you can compare the ISBN (International Standard Book Number). The ISBN is a 13 or 10-digit number that uniquely identifies one book or edition of a title from one specific publisher and is unique internationally to that edition.

  • Second-hand. This is the only way to get great books that are not published any more. Usually, second-hand books are used books, but they can also be unused and be in perfect conditions. Most people do not collect books. They buy a book, read it and then sell it, directly or through a second-hand book store. Ex-library books are a similar case but they always have some marks and writing in the first or latter pages.
  • Condition. Used books can be like new and be much cheaper. Nevertheless, they can also be more expensive, if they are rare or collectible items.
  • Location. Usually the books are cheaper in the country where they have been published.
  • Offers. To reduce their stocks, many bookstores sell new books at attractive prices.
  • Currency. when you pay in a foreign currency you incur several expenses.
  • Shipping cost. This is, probably, the extra cost that increases more the total price of your book.

Where

You can buy the books:

  1. Directly from us
  2. In any of the Amazon warehouses or
  3. In any of the marketplaces that Amazon has organised.

Obviously, you can try to find the book in any other bookstore or library. And also directly from the publisher, but all these options will probably be more expensive.

Where to buy Instructions Notes
Directly from us As a general rule, we do not sell books. But for different reasons we have one or two spare copies of some titles that we offer at discounted prices. Most of them are brand new, unused and in very good conditions. some have very small faults. We sell all of them on sale as second hand books in order to eliminate duplications in our own library. These temporary exceptions are marked with the button 'On Sale'.
Amazon warehouses We link the books in our listings to Amazon (in our opinion, the biggest and safest on-line bookstore worldwide), where you can find more information, customer reviews and also a comparison of prices with other booksellers.

Amazon has several warehouses over the world: USA, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Japan, Canada, China... To all purposes, they act as if they are independent bookstores, except in the fact that you only need to create an account once in any one among them and they will be available to all of them indefinitely, what makes the buying process much safer and simpler.

The book of your interest can be available only in some of the warehouses, sometimes with a significant difference in the price. We have linked together several warehouses so you can check availability and prices instantly (even thought, this fact delays the downloading of our pages). You can order from the Amazon location most convenient for you. To figure out your cost, take into account the exchange rates of the currencies published in www.xe.com. Don't forget to consider the shipping costs to your destination, the delivery time and the local taxes (when applicable).

Amazon has established different shipping costs for the books sold from the warehouses or from the marketplace. Those costs depend on the origin and destination countries.

Either from the Amazon warehouses or from the Amazon marketplace, after adding all the books of your interest to the shopping cart, you can compare them and check their characteristics and reviews. If you desire buying the books in your cart you have to check-out and give the shipping and payment details.

If you desire buying only a part of the books but maintain the rest for future reference, move these last to the "buy later" list. When you execute the checking-out you only buy the books in the cart at that moment.

If you do not like to maintain the references, you can delete them manually or they will be erased automatically after 90 days.

Amazon marketplaces Amazon warehouses only sell new books, but from each Amazon's website you can go to the corresponding local marketplace. The marketplaces are virtual markets where other bookstores offer the books that they have in stock, new and used, with the guarantee and payment methods of Amazon. There is one local marketplace associated to each Amazon warehouse.

To go to the marketplace of one country directly from our webpages and see the offers for one book at that moment, click on the corresponding link "best price", "mejor precio", "meilleur prix" or "bester preis". You can also go to one marketplace from the Amazon website. In such case, click on the [options to buy] or [used & new] links when you are in the page with information of the book.

While Amazon has demonstrated to be a very reliable, safe and customer-oriented bookstore, its collaborators offer the same guarantee but can be completely unknown.

Please, notice that not all the bookstores in the marketplace send books abroad.
